"Sinterklaas"!
Here comes Sinterklaas,
With his Pieterbaas,
We came from Spain by boat,
and travel by horse on roofs,
To visit the children,
There are ONLY sweet children,
So they get presents & 'sweets' ,
like Taai Taai indeed:

I remember us all getting a big taai-taai and a chocolate letter. Than of course all the presents, what a happy day that was!

Truus, Rebecca and others: Special for you the Dutch 'sinterklaas' lovers: see my new publication from wednesday. By the way, the original celebration is at 5 december. With 'surprises': the presents are wrapped-in a surprisingly way, and must be given with a personal poem....JoAnn
I still always buy taai-taai in December; and everyone gets a chocolate letter for Christmas instead (Canadianized Dutch)They are already in the cupboard. Those Dutch interclaas treats are not easily forgotten Who wants to forget them?!

Once a Dutch always a Dutch memory....you all know "how to celebrate Sinterklaas", you'll never forget the special candies ( chocolats and Taai or speculaas) and poems with nice wrapped presents!
