Overview of Wallis.
To visit the Bernese Oberland you can use the Lötschberg tunnel near Goppenstein, where the road ends. Many (freight) trains from Brig and Italy run through this tunnel. You can take your car with you by putting it on a special car-train in Goppenstein. For more information about this subject you can check the website of the BLS (Lötschbergbahn). The Lake of Geneva can be reached quickly from the west of Wallis. The first major town is Montreux, also known from the film-festival Rose d'Or (the Golden Rose). Here, the mediterranian character shows you another side of Switzerland. A bit furtheron to the west larger cities like Lausanne and Geneva can be found.

...Because we are in SWITSERLAND now...
I just let you know how we are doing here by this short writing....
Our trip from Holland to Switserland took us 12 hours by cars including the braks, we travelled through Belgium, Germany to Switserland, this was a wonderfull drive. Also the dog enjoyed the trip.
We are staying in VERMALA at a (click on link) SWISS Chalet very nearby a lot of walkingpaths. Its great to stay here because breakfasdt and diner in included and all we have to do is enjoy our stay here.....This is great and ' a must' to do at some time...!!! For example we are starting near our chalet for a walk and end in between 2 tm 5 hours later, we eat our lumch while we are walking or just enjoying the view at all the mountains......

Its not flat here of course because of the mountains... where we stay its called :"VERMALA" that is on 1500 mtr hight. We found out the temperature varies also in hight, so when you go lower in hight the temperature is higher than above... The temperature while we are here varies in between 10 to 20 degrees... Can you imagine?

We visited some small cities such as "Crans", "Montana" and "Sion" all very pretty and lots of historical backgrounds, so we saw Chateaus and old churches, everywhere we walk or go you see on the background always the mountains with SNOW on top!!!

Hier ben ik ook geweest, JoAnn! Prachtige streek in Zwitserland met een bijzonder mild klimaat. Wij waren in de buurt van Saas Fee. Veel marmotten gezien én gefotografeerd
