On the photograph above :Bert and his mother , in front of the family's builded wooden boat. Under: The boatname , name of the builder, and year of building.
The Over-grootvader ( Bert 's family) was around 1912 a reall boatbuilder by his own hands. He was working on this boats in Hindeloopen . -a small village in Holland- I hearded of this very interesting and old profession, so we went for a visit to Enkhuizen! Imagine this working on/with the heavy wood, making the " Wieringer Aak" type of boats... This boats were NOW laying in a harbor of the Zuiderzee Museum in the North of Holland. Some boats are still used by their owners, some others boats are to old for using and now laying in the harbor for showing to all the people. We : Bert , his mother and me ,were able to see this boatshow last weekend . We are proud of this beautiful old and even Dutch profession.
