Visits of his Family .....

Because of my hisband) Bert's birthday -on the 22th of September- all his family ( also a lot of our/together friends) came to visit us , on the last two weekend and also this weekend. They came on (Friday and Saterday's) different afternoons/evenings. Bert is coming out of a big nice family with 7 people: The 2 parents (his father died) his mother, of course Bert ( he the oldest) and his 3 brothers named : Peter, middle Ron and youngest Andre and 1 sister named Anneke. The 2 youngest :Andre and Anneke are a twin.

(Tip: doubleclick on the photographs to make hem bigger)

Above , this is Bert.

His Mother, she living in the south of Holland.

Picture Above: His Brother Peter + wife AnneMarieke, their 2 children: daughter Marleen and son named Styn. They live (quith far away ) in the very South of Holland.

His midlle brother Ron and his wife Anne-Marie, and their two little son's Jop (ed shirt) and Pim (blue shirt), they live in the midlle of Holland near Utrecht.

The 2 youngest's: twin brother Andre and sister Anneke, are 10 years younger than Bert, they both live/work in Amsterdam.

So the birthdays in Holland are celebrated very well with family and friends , mostly not all together on 1 day or weekend/evening, that would be too much people at once in our (small) livingroom. The birthday celebrations we celebrate with many presents, ( we make a wishlist too) . When too expensive the presents are given by all members off the family. We " the Dutch people" are not celebrating Christmas or St. Nicolaas ( but only families with youngh children do it for them...) in December with presents , as people do in Canada. So Bert's family is much closer than mine/JoAnn's and they always celebrate and vist ech other on all birthdays. My family is not like that at all, they are not very close at all and never come to visit us/our /mine birthday's , they are not giving presents and also come not to Bert's. But every family has their own special habits.... Anyway we enjoyed very much to see/meet our friends and all his family because they all are very very dear to us...
