We Bert and JoAnn are ....still in Costa Rica... we are doing great we change in very sportive people with walks from at least 4-6 hours a day.... I am so glad I took my walking boots with me.... Our hotel is near the smoking Arenal Vulcano , but we only saw the top....near the town La Fortuna .... Well yeh !!!we should see this vulcano when the clouds clear up but they won´t we suppose.... Today we made a hugh!!! walk ( left at 10 am and came back at 4 pm). We went walking to a big high impressif waterfall (700 mtrs high), we walked alllll the steps..... Ohh boy ....now we feel our legs sooo much. But we had a great walk though the local earea , we saw their houses and we drunk ón our way´cool coconut juice..... We reaxed afterwards in the Jacuzzi from the hotel, ( see above the link under La Fortuna) wich is near the swimming pool. Around here most visiters are walking by feet or by horses.... Its now and than raining here, sometimes in the morning or in the afternoon, but only very short... the weather stays warm..
Yesterday, we had a great half-day trip ... we went from the cloud forest in Monteverde to here, and we went by bus-boat-bus, and we crossed the beautiful Arenal lake.... beautifull vieuws!!! We saw the Arenal Vulcano on it´s best , well thats what we think now..... The roads here are unbelievable, SO BAD!!! Only holes and sandy roads, you cannot travel faster than 40 km an hour and still than you get nowhere..
Some days ago we visited ( for 2 nights) the cloud forest in Monteverde..we stayed in a lodge ( an wooden forest house).. we saw in the cloud forest a lot of species of beautiful birds and plants. The guide told us a lot about the forest, like the trees are growing ..5.. meters a month, so you can see them grow.... ( I think the dutch trees grow 1 meter a year). It was a very very impressing stay in Monteverde. Ohh and we also visited a butterfly garden, they have pretty colours like blue, yellow and red....And good for me.... NO muscito bites!!! I think the muscito´s don´t like me anymore haha! Or I am using more muscito reppelent. Oww .
Tomorrow is old years eve,,,, we wonder if we can find a restaurant wich stays open, if not we have a warm luch and go to bed early.... Our experience in foreign counties is that old-new years eve is not all that much special , so we do as if it is a normal evening...I think....
But for you reader of this blogger: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!
