We arrived two day ago in Dominical in http://www.villasriomar.com/. We stay here in A beautiful jungle lodge with a real living room surrounde with "a kind of curtain" against the muscitoos, no walls . We also have again our own hammock.... The hotel itself is 20 minutes walking from the dirty beach , so lucky us.... the place itself has a nice swimmingpool wich is better than the beach/sea...... The beach is also a parkingplace and mostly hippies are near there, also on a camping....Its very quith and there some poorly looking shops, there are no banks, no hospital, but there is one school for local children we quess. We went yesterday for a walk to this little village , just imagine us walking over a bumby stuffy road full of stones....no sidewalks. In Costa Rica I walk constantly on my moutain-boots ( with socks against the sandy-animals) even with 30 degrees. Its just not possible to walk on flipflaps (slippers) because you loose them. haha one day Bert lost his sole... " he is always walking on light shoes with a thin sole" (sole is under his shoe) , because you cannot wlak here on your bare-feet. . So his sole broke and he had to walk with a ( mine) sock over his shoe, just to reach the hotel... also because of the bad roads here. There are no sidewalks, so when cars passing on the sandy roads by you are filthy as hell and when wash my face in the evening , brownblack colours are coming off my face...not to mention my har wich seems like a wood filled with dirt... I wash my hair more often but it doesn't help. better is to wear a cap and I put all my hair under it... Ohhh also something to neam is the heavy rainfall her and also in La Fortuna. Wow!! Man that rain you cannot even walk in so heavy and it will not stop soon, so we carry our raincoats with us and hopibng we are near a spot where we can shelter if not.... well quess.... anyway its adventure to be her. But what the heck we are enjoying ourselves and the weather is always warm and nice . On the daytime its 30 degrees and in evenings around 25/28 degrees, with a little wind.. wich is very comfortable.
We went also to the Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge her in Dominical, with a walk up and down and including the trails we walked all together 9 kilometers..... And it also started to rain!!!! When we walked in the rain the trail were changing in orange mud! My boots and trousers changed in that orange colour, but..... we saw Monkeys and very nice species of birds, beatiful plants and trees. So it was worth the hiking-trip , we left at 1.00 pm and came back at the hotel at 5.30 pm. we walked all the time.... But its worth to smell the ( swwet smell) forest and see all this beautiful flora and fauna.....
The trip from our last spot : la Fortuna was a hell of a trip .... also on bumby roads ... wow you should imagine us sitting in a bus and going up and down ooow my kidneys.. ) haha. So we left La Fortuna at Jnauary 2th, noon around 1.00 pm and we arrived here with one stopover in Quepos, from there we went to Domenical. All together it was a trip of 9 hours.... We arrived in the dark at 21.50 pm just at the right time to drink some drinks because the bar/restaurant was closing at 22.00 pm, and we wer not able to eat somewher on our trip down to Domenical.. I still rmember the headlights of the small bus was shining on the bumby, dirty and sandy roads. that was our only vieuw of the surrounding. So as an example: 44 kilometers takes two hours driving....But you have to do it once , and you will never forget this roads.... We think we are not visiting again the forest or the waterfalls we have seen this in Monteverde already.... Ohhh by the way we did not see the 'Lava' coming out in La Fortuna. .... no way but we saw the top of the maintain .... wich is very rare..
So at January 6th we leave here to go to our last spot: Manual Antonio , we stay ther for 4 nights , after that last one night on San Jose airport Hotel * Millenium* before we are leaving by plane very very early to Holland......I keep you informed...

Liefs, Miek
Hi JoAnn, Yes we hopeto travel some this year. We have been looking up some deals on cruises again. We really love cruising - everything is done for you- the food is fabtastic and you get to visit many places. I usually book these online as that is where you can compare all the deals.
Its still warm here . It is suppose to be 11-13 on Sat. wich is way above normal. Ii is usually cold and a little bit of snow by now. At least it is keeping the fuels bills down.
Ou son has a blog but we don't even know how to get one.Maybe one of these days...
Love Colleen
