Memories...

(c) July :mom and dad 2003
This above photo I showed on the Photograpic festival 2005.

Sometimes.....when I talked with my aunt T. from Canada about family, I think also about the good things of my family wich is : my dearest Dad . With my other family members in Holland I have not the same contact as my Dad, because we absolutely have nothing in common. OK Back to the "Good Memories": This above photo of 'My Dad in love with my mom', was made in the summer of 2003. In December 2003, we knew that this was his last summer. He moved 'on this photo', from The Hague to his last nursing house in Leidschendam, near my parents/mom's house. As usual " I was glad to be with, & him help him with anything", So here I moved him and his 'few' stuffs " like his own chair and some clothes", from the one to the other house, and I was always glad to do that. My Dad never complained about anything, even when he was in pain (cancer in his bones) . My mom was still living in their appartment, so she could visit him more often, when he also lived in Leidschendam.

Since my dad once went to a hospital ( I think that was in 2000/2001) he never returned home, because he was too sick. I drove with my dad up and down to hospital's, " while singing JdH songs in the car, he could not read anymore, so we listened to a musictape"... or we went to the Zuiderpark, or to the beach or we went to his favorite place: Scheveningen. I still think often of my Dad, I miss him and our coversations , but the good thing is: knowing he is also now in a painless place, where he can be happy , I will not forget him.... by doing what he did when he was alive: he also loved PHOTOGRAPHYvery much, so making photo's and showing them to others is for me... in memory of my Dad.
