The concertgebouw by night in Amsterdam.
This Saterday-evening we are invited in the " The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam" by 'Cordarus' they are one of the sponsors. So we: Bert and JoAnn are going this evening to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. It's pre-starting with a speech by the manager of the 'Nederlands phylharmonisch orkest" followed by a spectacular culinair " walking dinner" in the' Spiegelzaal' :this is a special room in "The Concertgebouw".... for dinners/lunches etc. " The Concertgebouw" itself is worth a visit because it is a very old and beautiful building right in the middle of Amsterdam on a very pretty spot, so of course we are looking forewards for this great Concert!!!! We sure will enjoy this Classical Choir-Concert every second......
The Concert-building is built in 1882, it has a fantastic akoestiek, you can test it by a dry clap in your hands ( while the room is empthy of course) ad the sound will "galming" for 2.8 seconds....with a filled room the clap will galm 2.2. seconds...
This is playing:
>.........The Choir of The Dutch" OperaNederlands Philharmonisch Orkest Yakov Kreizberg" , with parts out of the 'Liturgie van St Johannes Chrysostomus'Kodály - Psalmus hungaricus, op. 13 Sjostakovitsj - Eleventh symfonie in g, op. 103 from 'The year 1905' . The main parts for The Choir are done by The Choir of " De Nederlandse Opera". The Centrall partwich is paying is: "Psalm 55, done by Zoltán Kodály" This concert is written for the 50th anniversary of Boedapest........<
Under: 2 very (previous?) old pictures from "The Concertgebouw" from the inside.

Very impressive indeed, I am sure you will be having a wonderful time. Theo would enjoy that kind of music.
I have been at a cocert in the Concert Gebouw once in my life, in 1954 or 1955. I was by meself, at the time I did not know anybody that liked the classics as well as I did. It was unforgettable. Ted
