Yes, we all have the option of making our own tree, don't we. Live is too short to live without creativity.

JoAnn, hello there... pine apple tree? never had a thought on that one... but, hey, know what, those little ones inside the pine are damned good to eat as you already know.
Nice colours too.

That's an interesting idea. Maybe I'll try that since my cat keeps knocking our regular tree over. :)

Nice music and lovely pictures of your puppy.

After a week "off" from blogging, I had a lot to see and read here. I of course especially appreciated the last Paris post, which I had not seen (bravo for all the "details" you have found!) and ... Kate Bush!

I think I will have one, does not take much space ;)

Nice pine cone. I have some here that the squirrels will eat when it gets cold and they get hungry. Nice shot.

Lovely tree...but where are the Christmas decorations?
When we lived in California, we collected giant Sequoia pine cones, bigger than a loaf of bread!

(the hibiscus in your header is beautiful!)

Ah JoAnn....Beautiful! Pine cones are used here in Virginia a LOT for decoration....and we even spread peanut butter and seeds on them and make a "natural" birdfeeder.

I have taken bright colored construction paper and punched a lot of holes with the hole puncher. Then take the dots that were punched out, put glue on a pine cone and decorate the pine cone with the dots. Children love this little craft.

I'll react on all you reactions tomorrow, go to sleep now , good night!

Dried apple slices on a pine cone - very clever JoAnn. It would be a lovely centerpiece on my own table.

Hi, JoAnn
after being "away" for some days, I came and I loved so much this brilliant idea, for the xmas tree! so nice a pine cone,
mine is a real tree, decorated, and waiting for my children to come and pull it down...
Xmas is Xmas, and when we have our so beloved children with us, all the best is so small... so short...
I'll be coming soon
stay well

I just love the pine tree & its all its varieties. I also love collecting the cones....a beautifully captured shot with lovely colours....

as for your query, I'm not a Buddhist, but I'm very much fascinated by this religion & like its customs & traditions very much.
