Holland is every year celebrating Queensday on April 30th
This year Queen Beatrix was visiting Zeeland in the South of Holland.

Quess what we are Dutch people are going to do?
Of course we are all Celebrating Queensday: by wearing Orange clothes and caps, we drink Orange coloured drinks, organise braderies and other happy festivities/music and more. Mostly all Dutch citizens are free from their work , its a national Holiday.Happy Queensday!

Today its "State Opening of Parliament-Day" or "Prinsjesdag"

On Prinsjesdag, the Queen of Holland (Queen Beatrix) delivers her Speech from the Throne to a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives. The speech sets out the government's plans for the coming year. Article 65 of the Constitution refers to the Speech from the Throne as follows: “A statement of the policy to be pursued by the government shall be given by or on behalf of the King before a joint session of the two Houses of the States General that shall be held every year on the third Tuesday in September or on such earlier date as may be prescribed by Act of Parliament.”

The Queen and her staff are driving today in THE HAGUE from Palace Noordeinde via Lange Voorhout to the Binnenhof.... where the Queen is reading the speech...

De Koninklijke stoet rijdt van het Paleis Noordeinde, via het Lange Voorhout naar het Binnenhof, alwaar de koningin de speech voorleest.
At the end of the Celebration-day , the Queens family is waving to the waiting and interested people... from their balcony./ Aan het einde van de feestelijke dag wuift de familie, vanaf hun balkon, naar de wachtende mensen.

Queen of Holland, 70Th Birthday today...

Above Queen Beatrix today on the age of 70,
Queen Beatrix her Youth:
Born as Princess Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard.
Princess of the Netherlands,
Princess of Orange-Nassau and Princess of Lippe-Biesterfeld,
Princess Beatrix was born on 31 January 1938 at Soestdijk Palace in Baarn.
She was the first child of
Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard.
Her younger sister, Princess Irene, was born in 1939. When war broke out in May 1940, the family left for the United Kingdom. A month later, Princess Beatrix and her younger sister fled with their mother to Ottawa in Canada, where Princess Margriet was born in 1943. Prince Bernhard remained in London with Queen Wilhelmina during the war. The family set foot on Dutch soil again on 2 August 1945. Princess Christina was born at Soestdijk Palace in 1947. Zij was het eerste kind van Prinses Juliana en Prins Bernhard.
Beatrix is geboren als Prinses der Nederlanden, Prinses van
Oranje-Nassau en Prinses van Lippe-Biesterfeld. In 1939 krijgt ze een zusje, Prinses Irene. Als de oorlog in mei 1940 uitbreekt wijkt het gezin uit naar Engeland.
Prinses Beatrix, haar moeder en zusje moeten voor hun veiligheid na een maand uitwijken naar Ottawa in Canada. Daar wordt in 1943 Prinses Margriet geboren. Prins Bernhard blijft tijdens de oorlog in Londen bij Koningin Wilhelmina. Op 2 augustus 1945 zet het gezin weer voet op Nederlandse bodem. In 1947 wordt Prinses Christina op Paleis Soestdijk geboren....Hier meer foto's en portretten van het
