I made this time either coloured and black-and-white portraits from peoples around me, all portraits are not shown anywhere before. The Festival-Theme of this year is "Face it", in this exibition I show by photographs "my life-story by portraitst" with faces of important people (and pets) around me... I hope it will give a small impression of my surroundings .

History of Festival Off

The Photo festival-Off exsists since the 2th Photofestival in the city Naarden Vesting (NL) back in 1991, teh photographs are showed in shopwindows or on the streets, on billboards on the site of the Vesting rivers. the Festival Off is a cllection of Photographers , pro's and amat
eurs who started their own exibition at their own riosk and expenses. Any shopwindow , shed or garage will do. its absolutely worth seeing this photo's. Come and see!!!

and it is nów already a BIG succes, lots of visiters were and will coming ,

to visit all the Photographs-exhibitions in NAARDEN.

and therefore there's this moment not enough Time left for blogging....

Because ...I really want to see all the exhibitions-showings ,

so thát I planned to do the following weeks + also I want to...

-visit all the other exhibitions and their photographs,

-visit the workshops or else.'

-meet other photographers/collegues on the Festival.

When the Festival will be finished (thats in 2 weeks after nafter June 14th) it will take another 2 weeks to pick up all my photographs, on the 6 different locations in Naarden... But it was worth to exhibite.. When you want to see more please Visit my 2 website's :

Needing Time for (finding) new Creative idea's

I did and do have lots of creative idea's but I never can find the right (or enough) time,

to do the following activities such as:

-Spending more TIME with my partner/family/dog,

-Write to some Gallery's to ask them for a place for exhibitions,

- Make lots of photo's and play with my camera's/Lenses,

- Study some books about Photography and Capturing etc,

-Making/designing a better website,

-Create a photo-album (book) with the last photo's I made,

-Make a (written) book, illustrated by photo's etc.

-Find subjects/theme's to make.

-Time to visit maybe some Gallery's etc.

-Visit you the other blog-friends,

The second week of the Festival of Photography in Naarden ,

many visiters 'photography lovers" have already visited all the exibitions in-and outdoors, and believe me, its altogether too much to see in one day . So I am lucky and very happy that I am able to visit the exibitions on more moments during the 4 weeks . And I have been also able to visit the other photographers exibitions! Its much fun to see the other exibitors photo's , because I believe that any style in photography is interesting...

About photography I was always wondering ;

"what makes a photo a good photo?" and I was turning myself or my camera upsidedown to make thát photo..., However... slowly I am starting to believe that "what is good" is what is depending from someone's mood. the circumstances, or the season of the year.... or maybe also from your sexe female or male. People are choosing for a photograph because it is reminding them of something good, out of their personal life......

Is a story behind a photo interesting ?

Maybe it is for the person who is making that photo, but the background idea has not to be known by the watcher. It is more important what story do you (the watcher) see in that photo. That is what counts more. Any camera big or small , professional- compact- or even a small mobile phone, can show to others what the 'photographer" saw through her/his lens. So my advice is: just enjoy making photo's , do as you like, and do not worrie about the "style or technic or capturing or more."Photography is great fun, just as long as yóu enjoy it!

Festival of Photography in Naarden Date : May 16th until June 14 2009

Finally after a month of hard working, suc as printing my photo's and (cutting 26 pass-partouts) framing them, and hanging 26 different photo's on several (5) locations. in Naarden ...... Finally Last weekend, Yeeeeh! on May 16th the Festival was started......... and it was very nice to see all of the many many phjoto's, billboard and more , and all the visiters wich were coming from everywhere to NAARDEN, to visit the festival.....

Momentally I am still busy with working on my last framing ,from all the 26 photo's, made for the Festival of Photography-OFF in NAARDEN . Its very exiting and soon, very soon, at the end of this week -on Friday!_ all works will hang on their 5 diffent locations for 4 weeks in a row.....

I am looking forewards to watch all the other photographers works and I am very glad to be a part of this véry creative & fantastic PHOTO- FESTIVAL festivity.

Since 3 weeks I am daily busy for m-a-a-a-a-ny hours of printing-out all my exibition photo's ( sometimes I have to print them again for the right colours) . Than cutting them each individually... and frame them all. I organised everything on a list, so that I know wich frame/photo is situated in wich box , by location and by theme........ I also made a flyer wich is also framed , this is for the visiters to read wher my other photo's on wich locations are hanging.....

........I was forgotten how much work that could be... And all "just for the "photo-exibition".

Everywhere in the city of Naarden , there will be hanging small and bigger photo's everywhere... billboards, on the canal-walls, the regular (house-shop) walls, everywhere on streets, even in the shopwindows, in some local restaurants, even in the shopwindows of the local Bakery....., the Flowershop, the wine-store, the coffeeshop and also the hairdresser!!! Every where is everywhere!!!

The best time for photographers and the festival is every two years! The Festival of Photography in NAARDEN-Holland, Who knows maybe we meet each other there?

All shown photo's are made somewhere in Holland or on Holidays/travels in Europe and they are reall photo's (without Photo-shopping) .

About Me: When I just started with a small Analoge camera ( as a teen/twen-ager) I was at first searching for my own style of photography.Later in 2003 I bought my first Digital camera.... that changed my look and style on photography dramaticly fast... I was very technical ( That I learned on the academy of photography) and carefull in my style at first, later I became more 'Free" in style. I made an awfull number of photo's everywhere I came, and printed them out myself, in small sizes , I went for the bigger sizes ( Billboards) to print- specialist's , just to try-out what I liked.. Its a progress of learning, wich is still growing every day.

The Festival showings: In 2005 I joined for the first time the Festival OFF in Naarden, with big Black and white portraits (size 1x1 meter) in 2007 I joined the festival with (colour ) Dogs-portraits (size 50x70 cm) This year my photo's are papersize 20x30 cm and all printed by me, visit my 2th website ( > go to page "exhibitions") to see more of my before shown exibitions..
